Full Channel Description for Rockersk08

876 views 1 year ago
Hello there! I'm Rockersk08 and I want to welcome you to my YouTube channel. This video tells the main technical details for my channel and is the default trailer for prospective subscribers. This video is also linked to on every single video description as it provides all the technical details to my channel in the description, due to the limitations in the "About Channel" segment.

Road Videos:
The time-lapsed road video productions are created by mounting my camcorder onto a tripod that is set up in the passenger seat of my car. I align my camcorder so that my hood is not visible during the recording, as well as any antenna protrusions on my car. Films are shot at normal speed before being accelerated in my editing software, typically at 3x the normal speed. A black blanket is placed across the dashboard where the camera is facing to remove windshield glare/reflections.

I started with a Flip Ultra HD camcorder for these projects, and while I still have it today, I primarily use a Sony HDR-CX190. The Flip has better color saturation and works in perfect conditions, while the Sony is more endurance-focused and can work at night. My current tripod is a Rocketfish, though I worked with an old Ambico tripod in the past, which was discarded due to deformed plastic. I use a small pickup truck as my primary car, which has a decent ground clearance.

FreewayJim has a great instructional video on setting up the system:

Game Recording:
I own three total capture cards and a few programs. For my standard composite videos, I use a Dazzle DVC100. For my HD videos, I use the Hauppauge HD PVR 2, but I was formerly using the original HD PVR. For my PC capturing, I use a full copy of Fraps and Camstudio.

I currently own the original Xbox 360 model, but the latest manufactured ones before the shift to the Slim in 2009. I also own a variety of older game consoles for my Retro gaming plays.

Data on my computer can be found at these image links on my FB fan page:

To capture my gameplay, I use the built-in software Total Media Extreme 2 and ArcSoft Showbiz for my capture cards. Due to an audio disconnect with the Dazzle, I have to render those clips in Windows Movie Maker to preserve audio. Otherwise, all editing is done in Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD 11.
