BIOGRAPHY

Liam Greenlaw is an accomplished director, art director, graphics designer and writer. Born in Scotland, he began his training at the world-renowned Glasgow School of Art. He left before graduation, on the considered advice of his professors, as the demand for his graphics work forced him to open his own company and studio while still at school.
Working in Glasgow and London, his studio serviced major artists and clients primarily in the music industry.

Arriving in Canada in the mid-1990's. Within months of landing in Canada, he founded Barkinhotstudio, a cutting-edge creative boutique specializing in design and advertising for film, television and the bravest of retail clients who specifically sought his unique vision and style. The studio quickly evolved into one of the leading broadcast design firms developing openings for films, directing and producing television spots and designing comprehensive network ID packages for North America's largest broadcast corporations. Major clients included BMW, Adidas, Fashion Magazine, Much Music and the Documentary Channel. His work also included award-winning movie poster design for such major features as Felicia's Journey, Hard Core Logo, Ginger Snaps and Better than Chocolate to name just a few.

Greenlaw has won numerous awards for broadcast design including a Promax Gold, a World Gold at the New York Festival, an assortment of prestigious advertising awards and two Emmy Nominations for Title Design.

He presently is a much sought after director of commercials and music videos. He is known for his great visual style and exacting wry humour and has worked for such clients as Oxy, the Toronto Blue Jays and Toshiba.

Liam is also a writer. He is presently negotiating production of an original screenplay and is co-writing an adaptation of Scottish novelist, Alexander Trocchi's 1950's novel Thongs.

He lives in Toronto with his wife and son.
