What a short, tragic life. He was severely injured in the Skynyrd plane crash and then had a car accident that resulted in his paralysis. He died in 1990, aged 37, afflicted with pneumonia that was a complication of the paralysis. RIP Allen, one of the greatest guitarists all time. Your incredible Free Bird solo is a lasting tribute to your immense talent.
