Construction of the Jubilee Haven was carried out by Dean Dyball Civil Engineering for the Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes on the Isle of Wight in the winter of 2005/2006. Officially opened by HRH Prince Philip in the May of 06, the Haven will provide shelter and berthing facilities for the Members and their guests. High winds and bad weather hampered the photography but didnt stir the crew that carried out the engineering. 19992 still frames were taken from start to finish then compiled into a movie. In the previous version, here, it was viewed over 3300 times by interested parties and this version has been re done to take into consideration that Dean Dyball have rebranded after being aquired by Balfour Beatty.

Part of the on going Pett Coastal Defences in the South of England, tides running up & down the English Channel cause the shingle and sand to shift at an alarming rate. To prevent this erosion, a series of Groynes are placed at intervals along the coast line. Originally running for 14 minutes, the video has been shortened because of time limitations set by you tube. Produced in 1080p HD and DVD for the company, this version has been cut in resolution, content & quality to enable download. Great thanks must go to the Gang, run by Malcolm, who throughout the entire filming were highly co-operative and helpful to a finished creation that looked easy but wasnt. That goes for not only the filming, but the construction too. The timber piles were knocked into the ground by the rig, making the camera and tripod jump and the shingle shift and settle each time the hammer came down. This made the timing of the shutter release fairly crucial and the camera positioning needed to be monitored constantly. I thank Mackley Construction for the Commission, for once again, putting their faith in me.
