I read some things on the internet about Jay North. The reason Jay North probably felt that way about the show , is because he served a stint in the Navy and got alot of ribbing from his mates because of the show. He probably feels proud today the show is still well received and loved by TV viewers.

show had good writers and good cast also, jay north and Joseph Kerns worked well off each other. to bad they don't make nothing like this for kids anymore for TV glad this show was around when i was young , least kids can see reruns.
