Excellent question about the brass discoloration. I have some of these rounds and wondered about that myself but never asked anyone.

I JUST bought this at Walmart along with a $1.00 pocket knife. I haven't tried shaving off magnesium yet, but I can throw sparks easily using the back of the knife. I'll try the magnesium tomorrow.

9-9-9 is not the Fair Tax. The question was about the Fair Tax, not 9-9-9. The fair tax doesn't include any income tax component. It's strictly a sales tax (inclusive not exclusive meaning it's already built into the price).
