Very nice. I love the dreamy tone the Hammond is capable of. I own a clone, the Roland VK88. That's the style I play.

Allen organs have a much lower line level going tot he amp. You might get better volume running through a mixer. But I recommend finding some amps on ebay. Anything from the predigital area will work if it is in good repair. You also need Allen speakers which... can be found on Ebay.

I have a 1960 TC4. Each has a unique set of stops. I have added two full size gyros. it also has tuning issues, but it sounds like an old pipe organ with... minor tuning issues. They would have to pry my cold dead fingers away from it.

On my Roland VK88 the volume pedal has 2 side switches that I can program to do whatefer I want. They are great for leslie speed and brake. No need to reach my hand over while playing. Is that an option with your instrument?

@swvamp: I bought a Roland VK88 (another B3 clone) because its a complete organ, portable, and MIDI. No, its not a real B3, but close enough that most musicians could not tell the difference. And I can play programs in my computer like Miditzer, jOrgan, etc. Definitely not a throwaway.

@PALMERFISHOOK I own three early Allens, T15B, TC-4 Classical, and a small 60's model. Learned a lot from the Allen discussion group at launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/Allen-Organ-Owners/ They all run pretty well inspite of years of neglect.

I have this dvd. Great quality sound even though it was recorded in Brazil in 1963. Great filming too.

Garth isn't wierd. More like Hendrix for the organ. His experimental techniques were used by others in the decades to follow, especially the synthesizer players.

@donovad2007 Piece of junk? I have a TC4 that is NOT a piece of junk. Real wooden keys, sturdy AGO pedals, reliable for 50+ years, one of the best analog classical organ tones. The new large digital consoles cost much more, and the consoles are not as nice. I find the TC4 tone more pleasing, even...

My point is that there are many incomaprabley fantastic versions of this piece.
