In the aftermath of typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana) and now, Pepeng (Parma) lashing Tuguegarao and Cagayan, we are faced with the long and painful task of rebuilding homes, roads, schools and even fractured lives. It is not an easy task and it will take awhile before the whole of Metro Manila and neighboring Luzon provinces can fully recover from this tragedy. But with the help of the many faceless donors and selfless volunteers, we are able to draw strength from each other, stand up, wash the mud and roll-up our sleeves to accomplish the work at hand. We honor the many heroes that make up the Philippines. One online photo says it best, "Where I'm from, everyone is a hero."
