March 27, 2002 -- the first ever concert - the band is officially born as ZATMENIE.
The first season of 2002-2003 ZATMENIE plays gigs in all rock clubs of Moscow and its suburbs, earning the attention and respect of the audience. Rock legendary bands of Russia E.S.T. and Black Obelisk get to know ZATMENIE and invite to play with them. This experience brings the band to a higher level of popularity and recognition. ZATMENIE starts to participate almost in every metal fest activity.
A year after, in March of 2003 the band moved into a studio to record its first album. In order to form a sound of its own and reach a high quality level of the recording process the band decides to work with a world famous guitar master May Lian. He becomes a sound producer of the album entitled NENAVIST (HATERED).
While recording the album, ZATMENIE had not stopped playing gigs but organized a number of its own contribution ones: Metallica Heavy Metal Fest 2, Black bloody Sabbath Fest, Judas Priest Metal Meltdown.
In April 2004 ZATMENIE had signed a contract with one of the biggest record labels in Russia - JET NOISE - and thus released the NENAVIST which got successfully sold out within the first three-four months.
The band hit the road for the support tour, presenting the album in the key cities of Russia and earning more and more fans all over the country.
Meanwhile, ZATMENIE started writing the new songs that came out to be heavier and faster. The band's frontman Pavel Mikheev got invited to a number of festivals dedicated to RAGE, METALLICA, JUDAS PRIEST and others.
ZATMENIE won the R-CLUB METAL OLYMPIC Award for the BEST HEAVY METAL BAND.
Fall 2005 -- ZATMENIE released its second - self titled album.
At the moment ZATMENIE is working on its third album, planning to release it in 2009.
