Great lyrics, wonderful production. Ethereal sounding . . . atmospheric. Who sings "can't ever keep from falling apart". Sounds like a female. Or is it a male singing falsetto. Whichever, it simply works. Best Duran Duran song in my humble opinion. Could have been a hit in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s ...

Cracks me up to read the comments from people who take umbrage with someone covering a song by another artist. C'mon people, the concept of paying tribute and showing honor to someone who was influential on your own music or art is not that hard to grasp. Uh, it's like an elementary school level ...

Smashing Pumpkins - The End (Doors cover)

The Smashing Pumpkins - Grand Rex, Paris (22 May 2007)

They opened Silverfuck with that song

"How can he sing a Doors song?" some of you have asked. Ever hear of paying tribute to an artist who influenced you? Most covers are simply that. They are giving honor to the original song and the original artist. Try to honor this concept. It's not that hard to grasp.

Part 3 - The Unknown Soldier

Someone asked where the bass player is. Well, he is sitting at the keyboards. Ray Manzarek worked the foot pedals of the organ in concert. The Doors would often use a bass guitar session man in the studio. In concert while out on the road, Manzarek was the bass man. Pretty impressive I say.

Footage at 2:00 where the chick tries to go under the stage and the cops pull her back is from the August 1968 concert at Sam Houston Coliseum. What a night that was! Morrison had ducked under the risers with a microphone and invited the girls to join him. This girl was just trying to answer Jim'...

Every time an orchestra performs Beethoven, Mahler, or Satie they are doing a cover aren't they? Be thankful that timeless music is honored by musicians other than the "originals" doing it. This is how great pieces live on from one generation to another. If you don't like a particular version of ...
