Ricki Lake's approachable appeal has charmed international movie and television audiences for more than two decades. Lake burst onto the Hollywood scene in 1988 with her first starring role as "Tracy Turnblad," the perky heroine of John Waters' "Hairspray," earning her the title of "entertainer to watch."
Ricki followed up her success as a movie actress with a surprise turn as a talk show host, which earned her a place as a beloved media personality around the world.
Recently, Ricki tackled the role of independent filmmaker, family advocate and author, while continuing her career as an actress in film and television.
