If you look closely you will see that when the conductor is on the platform and Alan Titchmarsh welcomes everybody to the last night of the proms, the rail behind the conductor is not decorated (same as when the music stops). but when the music is in full swing it is. The prommers are actually b...

If the console had not been moved from it's original position by the stage, Nigel would have been perched on a Howard Seat as the console only just fitted on the lift turntable.

Ian Tracey prefers to use the gallery console as it was the only console they had when he took the post. most visiting organists do end up playing the mobile recital console the first time they play so they hear the organ almost as the congregation would.

Surprisingly, the theatre organ in the studio in California sounded quite good with the tremulants switched off. Yes thats the movies. The organ you see at the start is not the one you are hearing.

Dudley Moore - "Oh Come All Ye Faithful" - organ, with choir - stereo HQ

I remember seeing this when it was broadcast. Looks like the organ Dudley is playing is a 'Viscount Domus 8' (or similar instrument). My old school had one of those when I learnt to play the organ.

an all time comedy and music great. The worst part of it all for Dudley was not the accusations of being drunk, or the falling over but no longer being able to play the piano. Music was his life.

@HappyDiscoDeath No, it is just an orchestral version of the toccatta used for the sound track to the video.
also very effective as an instrumental over communion,I have played it a couple of times. I just use quiet string stops on the organ. No need for the oboe stop when you have an oboe player stood next to the console.
