You obviously don't know anything about antennas. You can't use 162 mhz to demonstrate antennas tuned for the ham bands. The resonant frequency is way too far off. You needed to do that demo on the correct frequency band. The reason that it worked better on 162 is because it was 5/8 on two meters...

  Actually the loop is the same or better 95% of the time, probably due to the fact that I can rotate the loop for best direction. Once in a while the 390 ft dipole is just a few db better due to the gain lobes in certain directions.
