About Me:

There aren't too many great and interesting things to say about myself.
Some Basic Information: I am about 5'8". I have straight/wavy black hair, brown eyes, tanned skin. I wear glasses. I'm in my early twenties (for now). I was studying sciences in university. For the record, I am a Sunni Muslim of the Hanafi madhab i.e. school of Islamic law. I believe traditional Islam is best to follow and I recommend others do the same. I chose Islam for myself around the time I was 17, 18 years of age.

I request all Muslims to InshaAllah please make dua for me that Allah accepts and manifests my halal duas.

(*I for some reason more often than not don't reply to comments on my profile. I am more likely to respond to personal messages. Even then, please excuse me if I don't respond right away)

There are many young Muslims born and raised in the Chicagoland area, some of whom which are highly educated in academics and have/had so much interest in gaining knowledge of the religion of Islam. Some of them have gone onto become great scholars of Islam.

One of the most well known is Shaykh Husain Abdul Sattar (also University of Chicago Medical School graduate, physician, pathologist). MashaAllah he is very intelligent and great speaker!

Shaykh Mufti Kamaluddin Ahmed, Husain Sattar's friend from University of Chicago, (although not born in Chicago) was born and raised in Manhattan, NY and obtained a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Chicago.

Shaykh Bilal Ali Ansari was born, raised, and educated in Chicago, IL. After completing his high school education in 1998, he studied two years of computer engineering at the University of Illinois in Urbana, IL. Later, his desire for Islamic knowledge drove him to the Indian subcontinent, where he decided to pursue a higher education in Islamic studies.
Aside from his hadith ijazahs from Mufti Muhammad Taqi Uthmani and other ulama of Darul Uloom Karachi, Shaykh Bilal Ali also has ijazahs in hadith from some of the most senior ulama of Pakistan, namely Mawlana Saleemullah Khan, Mawlana Sarfaraz Khan Safdar, Mawlana 'Abdul Haleem Numani, and Mawlana Khan Muhammad, all direct students of Shaykh al-Islam Husain Ahmad al-Madani (may Allah enlighten his grave).
Currently, Mawlana Bilal Ali Ansari is teaching the darse nizami shariah course full-time at the Ma'had Taleem al-Islam (Institute of Islamic Education, Elgin IL). He also teaches part-time at the College Preparatory School of America, a Muslim high school located in Lombard, IL. Alongside his involvement in a number of Islamic community activities, he also serves as director and part-time imam of al-Mustafa Masjid in Westmont, IL. He is the Director of Education for Darul Hikmah and the serves as principal of the Darul Hikmah Academy.

Mufti Haroon Firdausi Born and raised in Chicago. He was one of the first American-born scholars to travel abroad to study the Islamic sciences. He attained a bachelor's degree in the field of electrical engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign.

There is Maulana Omar Hussaini born & raised in Chicagoland. After completing his hifz, he continued to complete his high school education, placing amongst the highest in America in national exams. Subsequently, Maulana Omar got accepted into the prestigious University of Illinois at Chicago's GPPA Program (a seven year guaranteed professional progarm in medicine).Prior to his final semester in medical school, Maulana Omar, along with his family, left for Darul Uloom Zakariyya in South Africa. During this time, Maulana Omar completed the final year of his alim course, placing within the top five students of his class. He graduated both from his alim course and his medical school in 2006.

Mufti Azeemuddin Ahmed was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. After completing hifz, he went on to complete a rigorous 8-year Alim and 'Ifta course at Darul Uloom Zakaria in Johannesburg, South Africa based on the traditioonal Darse-Nizami cirriculum of Islamic education, under some of the world's greatest scholars such as Mufti Raza-ul-Haq. Following his graduation with top honors, Mufti Azeemuddin earned authorizations in the Islamic sciences, which included but was not limited to, Arabic language, Exegesis (Tafseer), Hadith, and Jurisprudence (Fiqh). He is currently Imam at the AIA Masjid in Frankfort, IL and also holds private Islamic studies classes at his newly established masjid and institute of learning, Darus Salam, located in Lombard, IL. MashAllah, Alhamdulillah(All praise and thanks is due to Allah alone)!
Chicagoland is maybe a blessed metropolis. Allah(the One and Only God) knows best.
Occupation:
Student
Hobbies:
I love TREMENDOUSLY to go to http://www.SacredLearning.org and gain the knowledge and wisdom available there through Shaykh Husain Abdul Sattar. I am also a HUGE fan of Anwar Al-Awlaki. 'Lives of the Prophets', an extremely popular bestselling lecture series, was probably his greatest work ever. _____________________________________________
Movies:
Normally, I personally don't like the watching of acting/drama. I feel it generally tends to be a waste of time. The idea of acting I think is a bit strange where people pretend to be someone they're not and people who watch seem like they are going into a dream world to kill time, wasting the most precious resource they have, which is time. It is as if they want to get away from reality, not have to think about what is true. Not everybody has health, wealth, or lineage, but everyone has time. People will have to answer for their deeds on the Day of Judgment. _____________________________________________
Music:
Music is pretty much not allowed in Islam. That music which is impermissible in Islam is bad for you. I do like listening to some nasheeds such as those by Dawud Wharnsby Ali, Talib al- Habib, Labbayk. _____________________________________________
Books:
I also am not a fan of fiction books. There is no real knowledge in it. I find it to be a waste of time, similar to watching TV, movies, drama. It is as if a person wants to escape from reality and go into a dream world, which is fake. Who wants that? I would rather read books with real knowledge in them that will benefit me. I don't think I will recommend Harun Yahya anymore when it comes to Islam. Maybe for poltical, social topics I would. ______________________________________________ A book I really like to read is Maariful Quran. It is arguably the best tafsir (commentary and explanation) of the Quran in the English language, according to Shaykh Faraz Rabbani from SunniPath, and me too. Ma'ariful Qur'an has helped me so much and I have learned a lot, Alhamdulillah! It is written very-well by a great traditional scholar of Islam, Mufti Muhammad Shafi'i. Please do share these resources with other Muslims InshaAllah. The link for the tafsir is: http://www.islamibayanaat.com/EMQ.htm _____________________________________________ SunniPath, an online Islamic academy is pretty good. 'SunniPath is the Online Islamic Academy for those that want to learn Islam online by way of distance courses. SunniPath has developed an extensive curriculum in several subjects areas such as basic and advanced Arabic language, foundational Islamic sciences, and advanced-level Islamic sciences. Our distance courses utilize unique online learning tools, and combine both ancient and modern methods of teaching. Study Islam online through our innovative online Islamic classes and experience it for yourself.' - http://www.SunniPath.com _____________________________________________ SunniPath also has a pretty good free Islamic Answers service: http://qa.sunnipath.com/ _____________________________________________ Learn Arabic language online at http://www.ShariahProgram.ca _______________________________________________

As'salamu'alaikum wr. wbr,
You have a good taste in nasheeds and books. I totally agree with your view about movies, shows, fiction novels. Over the years, I have prayed to Allah subhanahuwatAllah to reduce my interest. And now its all like, every time I think about tv and movies, I just hate how they feel so fake and unreal. disgusted with myself that I wasted time. Just hope to take that time and bring it to good use. InshaAllah.
