hey to save the video do you go file>creat proxy>movie? because when i do that the saber doesn't play at the same speed as the actual movie clip and it gets all messed up.

I used the built-in effect in Avid for my Matrix opening in my V for Vendetta - V's day off (final project in an intro to Video Production class) but your tutorial is wonderful, some truly interesting tricks there, I stumbled accross it while digging for a good guide to making the Star Wars hologram-look work.
