I would like to also mention in a pinch if you use 3 section trekking poles(collapsing) you can break them down into 6 sections and use them the same way as the snow stakes with a deadman set.
I have done this with my Lekis. It works fine.

If you can handle the weight for the money these tents are awesome. I know I own the 2 and 3 xte and have used them in snow. They are very close to being a 4 season model. I think they should either be rated at 3.5 season or a convertible.

Hands down the Mountain Pass is a more solid model, that utilizes heavier materials, and the fly is full coverage as mentioned in the review above.
You do have a weigh trade-off though...
