Dear rhandsom : I really appreciate your video ! I am thinking to use your idea to help my family in Viet Nam living in remote area with plenty of sunlight but there is no electricity at all !
Can you post a video in details how to buy the parts and how to assemble for the dummy like me ?

Can I get a copy of your schematic. I would like to duplicate your system.

Thanks for the Vid's I have enjoyed them, planning on starting out with a couple of panels and going from there.

Rhandsom i have followed all your solar videos and love your setup. I am installing a simular setup and i need to know where to get your tilt piece that is mounted to the panels and the pipe? It looks like a Satalite one am i correct? Any ideas where i can get some? Thanks Again Jason!

@WingManOC Thanks for your comments, I enjoy sharing what I've learned. For your question, If you size your panel arrays and the battery bank according to your watt hr requirements and practice good energy conservation you should have all the power you need. Also, Turning off non-critical things you don't need run all day and night will allow critical and semi-critical things to be off the grid for extended periods. To help you calculate your needs, take your watt hour requirements and multiply by 2, this should help you size your array and battery bank appropriately. For example: 200w per hr x 2 = 400w (in panels) and 200w x 8 hrs = 1600w (1600w x 2 = 3200w battery bank. This should keep an energy efficient freezer and fridge going at night for as long as you need it and the 400w panels with a good mppt charge controller will charge your batteries during the 5hrs good hrs of daylight.

Fantastic set of videos. Do you have any idea how much time and money you've saved people? I'd like to take part of my house off grid with your system configuration. I have a Sunnyboy3000US inverter which should do the trick. My question is.... For daily usage with say 5 hours of good sunlight and another couple of hours of less sun, will this setup keep a refrigerator, three TV sets with DVR, and perhaps 200w of household lighting going day and night, 7 days per week? I'm trying to figure out how much of the house I can pull off the grid. Thanks again for your hard work, and also your wisdom as far as safety goes. -Tom tpphoto@aol.com

@Pbeas52 I believe I saw that video referring to dumping power to the grid ties through a special device, don't recall exactly what it was. However, if you figure it out please upload a vid so we can see if it would work for us.

Very nice setup and nice testing: I am working on a similar project where my batteries will feed power into the grid tie inverter automatically but haven't figured out the best way to go about it. AL from Texas has figured out a way to get his system to automatically dump power into the GTI once his battery bank is full. The benefit to this type of setup is that you will always have charged batteries in the event of an emergency and you will also have the advantage of using all your incoming power from your solar panels or wind turbine (or both) and nothing is wasted.
