I can understand that it must be frustrating when people open doors for you and there are stairs on the other side, or they open doors and its not even a door that you are going to be using. I would just be glad that there are people around who think about others more than themselves in that one moment.
My mother had a disability and was wheelchair bound. Adults used to just stare at her and hold their children back because they thought that she had something that was contagious. No one helped her with the doors or anything of that nature.
