This is a full live performance by the Cherry Poppin' Daddies, filmed by videographer Steve Swanson at Eugene, Oregon's WOW Hall on 9/30/1993.
Well, you found it. The best Cherry Poppin' Daddies footage on the entire internet. This is the real deal, folks: no neo-swing predominance, no fancy suits, no major record deals...this is the Daddies at their finest: loud, raw, and raunchy. I hope those who take this band for granted (or those who believe them to be only a "swing band"), will get their comeuppance from these videos.
I apologize for the video quality. Well, actually, the quality is somewhat fine, it's the odd 1990s video effects that have been placed upon them. Nearly every clip is heavily saturated, so I apologize in advance if it bothers you. In my opinion, it's kinda artsy!
This song here is entitled 'Up from the Gutter', a funky little number that was originally featured on the band's 1989 debut demo 'Four From On High'.
Here is the setlist:
1. Up From the Gutter 2. Flovilla Thatch vs. the Virile Garbage Man 3. Silver Rocket 4. Pink Elephant 5. Dr. Bones 6. Come Back to Me 7. Say It To My Face 8. The Enemy Within 9. When I Change Your Mind 10. Midas in Reverse 11. Drunk Daddy 12. Dirty Mother Fuzz 13. Slapstick 14. Johanna of the Spirits 15. Chrysalis 16. The Graduate 17. Suicide Kings 18. Mona Lisa 19. Teenage Brainsurgeon 20. I Gotta Be Me/April in Paris 21. Cherry Poppin' Daddy Strut 22. Shake Your Lovemaker
And for those who might be wondering, this was the line-up when this video was filmed:
Steve Perry (MC Large Drink) - vocals, guitar Dana Heitman - trumpet, trombone Jason Moss - guitar Dan Schmid (Dang Oulette) - bass Brian West - drums Chris Azorr - keyboards Brooks Brown - alto sax Adrian Baxter - tenor sax

Based on one song, their new record might be worth bringing into my class.
