About this user
Revive the Redheads have been composing together since the age of six. This twin sister-duo share an extraordinary collaborative relationship that reflects on personal love, mortality, modern war and unguarded sexuality. In the same vein as Tori Amos debut "Little Earthquakes" and Fiona Apples debut "Tidal", Jess and Alexis bring forth their most telling collection of original songs on their upcoming debut, Heirloom. While some songs lyrically pay homage to musical inspirations, others explore the limitless possibilities of sound by creating an atmosphere specific to the song. Heirloom is a reveal of sorts that requires a patient and curios ear. From the booming analog piano of the track 'Sound of Pain' to the bowed guitar licks that surface in 'What's in a Day,' Revive the Redheads are true to their music, and feel uncompromised by trends in mainstream music. Contributing to the soundscape of Heirloom are musicians throughout North America; much like one might commission a painter, Revive the Redheads finds musicians whos music they feel resonate with their style. Joining them on their debut are former Hey Ocean drummer Benny Schutze, writer/musician Joel Bakan, noteworthy experimental cellist Cris Derksen and guitarist Chris Leitch of the indie rock band Analog Bell Service. More tracks will be posted soon, be sure to check back and tune in!
