@5191keith and in addition to this is the fact that thunder jet were "rated" at 360 hp.but all acounts i have read put it to about 425 actual hp.all i know for sure is they run grt

as a ford man i gotta say,them 427 vettes ran good,real good

drags are won and lost at the line,but the 429 should have gotten a batter time than that even w a bad line

my bro had a small block gt when in high school.he put a thunder jet 429 in it.bone stock except a holley.tore the lief springs through the trunk,broke the front frame rails and blew the turbo muffles up like balloons.ate alot of gto judges and camero`s and stuff like that before it ate the car.m...

love it ,but i`m a fan of stock look,chrome bumpers

gt stands for grand touring,as in the racing series back then of grand touring.it had door knobs,windows on rollers and all that stuff.
