I started my own business in the home improvement industry by mistake 25 years ago. I was working at County USC Medical Center in LA as an administrative assistant and realized that to go any further I'd have to be an MD or PHD.

Well, I had no desire to do either of those things so I gave a two-week notice and started by own cleaning & personal services business. When people realized I showed up and didn't steal anything, someone asked me to paint. I had no idea how to paint but quickly learned and from there I developed a painting business, which lead to many other types of work in the home improvement industry. I put together a crew and I became a general contracting corporation.

Eye For Detail, Inc.

I started my remodel coaching practice coaching both homeowners and contractors 10 years ago after I read the Emotional Homeowner by David Lupberger. I'd really experienced a lot of drama in dealing with homeowners who, in many circumstances, were very emotional, especially about money. Until I read David's book, I thought it was my fault or my problem. From that I developed the coaching model I now work: It's a relationship and communication is key. Remodel 411 was developed from there and is a division of Eye For Detail.

MoneyVisions

Ten years ago, when I wasn't able to earn a living at my business, I said to myself wait a minute, this isn't a hobby its a business! It was then I realized I was an underearner and used my personal failures to learn how to become a successful businesswoman. I had $120K of debt and by digging my way out of that hole and becoming solvent, I learned the ins and outs of moving from vagueness to clarity in my own relationship with money. From there, I began coaching others about their relationship with money, both personally and professionally. I began coaching business people on how to run a profitable business. This became MoneyVisions.
