Hakeem played his usual great all around game and got good contributions from Kenny Smith who hit 6 threes and Sam Cassell who had 9 consecutive points in the 2nd to help Houston take control of the game. Karl Malone was shut down with just 4 points in the first half and Stockton was quiet as well.

But only 2 of Marbury's 50 came in overtime and the Lakers star duo combined for 70. Kobe had 38 including the game winning basket and the foul, while Shaq had 32 including the blocked shot that led to the game-tying basket by Tyronn Lue.
