Fiskars Super Splitter Axe - First Day
Just bought this excellent splitting axe and tried it out. Blew me away! Fast! Who needs a log splitter with this baby!

@janevski I prefere to split as soon as possible after cutting.....will speed up seasoning and prevent logs from start rotting from inside....and be barely get any frost here in NW US anyway....

@woodscritter So whats your point....read axe and maul definitions on wikipedia....
If you think sharpness is not important when splitting....then wrap a t-shirt around your maul head and try splitting....
I agree that axes are inefficient for splitting, but that doesn't mean that this axe is in...

Yes I have seen it! NOT IMPRESSED! They re-designed the head a little, 1/2" wider edge now. NOT GOOD, will decrease the penetration depth into the log. I am 6' even and I can not utilize the longer handle.

Please post a video about you splitting hickory....I have never split any else than hemlock, ceder and fir....
