Always ready to be kind (remember the Donald Pleasance winemaker?) ; tough enough to handle the biggest egos (the Gene Barry doctor), Mr. Falk made and kept Lt. Colombo a class act.

I remember the producers and Mr. Falk saying that back then they preferred to limit the number of Colombos to keep the quality up. It worked, I'd say.

Always enjoyed the "MM" though Columbo was the only one I'd go to some trouble to see.

A great film version...Stephen Rea was fantasic as Poldy. If you haven't seen it, see it.
