Ain't it a crime that there was no recording technology back then? :) I've often wondered the same thing, given that I've heard both of them cited as the best ever...sooooo.....who gets the prize??! :) :)

Mr. Friedman was awesome. I should post some of my videos from my lessons with him. He had me record every lesson I had with him, and I studied with him for five years, so I have a quite a little stash, let me tell you! :)

Agreed on Heifetz. I studied under Erick Friedman and he used to talk about how precise and exacting he was about his playing. He referred to it as nearly "obsessive compulsive". :)
