Developed with Processing. Music by Peter Gabriel Glenn Marshall is the graphic artist responsible for Peter Gabriels music video The Nest that Sailed the Sky. The animation transports viewers into magnificent fantasy worlds in which plantlike organisms sprout, send out shoots and proliferate. The video was created with Processing, an open-source programming language & environment. Glenn Marshall: I developed 6 animation sequences using this imagery, all showing different stages of birth, life, transcendence, decay etc. 1. single cells growing on ends of stems, with dark underwater shading , I also added concentric ripples which emanated from the growing vines. 2. empty nests with trails of red berries being left behind where ever the stems grow from, against subdued morning sky shading. 3. the boy in the nest appears, against sunset shaded background. 4. boy in nest against brighter blue sky shading. 5. star child luminous effect on dark background. 6. single cells again, without stems, dark watery shading. I rendered out each sequence for the entirety of the songs duration. The shapes of the vines and positions of the sprites are exact for each sequence, this allowed me to dissolve each sequence at any point from one into another and maintain a natural looking transition. In post production, through simple dissolves, I could experiment with and craft together a visual narrative that changed with musical cues in the song. Commissioned by Linda McCartney and directed by Ian Emes, who designed, painted and airbrushed every frame of the film, which many people thought to be computer animated. Anticipating the digital revolution, this was Emes' last animated film before moving into live action.

Rendezvous follow up the underground hit "C Sharp" with a slice of smart, leftfield electro in "The Murf". Another track from their now eagerly awaited debut album, "Another Round Please", the song follows a minimalist pulse that brings to mind the likes of Kraftwerk and Underworld. Followed up with a series of remixes, the track is expected to be a club chart success -- their ties with classic house names only strengthening. Carl Cox has only recently featured the band on a 2CD compilation for Space where he included one of the two remixes he contributed to their last single. This time around, John Digweed and Nick Muir, amongst others, are taking his place with remix duties on side B.
The band already have a firm fanbase across Europe, with home videos of the band recording their debut album quickly received over a million views on the band's YouTube Channel. The band worked on "The Murf", and the rest of their forthcoming album, with producer Dave Bascombe (Kylie Minogue, Depeche Mode, Tears For Fears). Dave has visited them in their home country and his classic production style leaves an undeniably sleek mark on the band's recordings.
This is undoubtedly a classic sound, the two piece playing the vast majority of instruments on the record themselves live in the studio; yet again fusing the digital with the traditional to great effect. An organic approach to dance music, Hagai and Itai take their cues from not only the electro pioneers but from early progressive rock and chillwave. With UK coverage already in place from key radio and the likes of tastemaker's bible DJ Mag, Rendezvous' profile is only expected to grow further with "The Murf".
The band's debut album, "Another Round Please" will follow soon after on November 14th with worldwide distribution through Rough Trade.
