@MuffinJowest I'm unsure as I have not done the quests for it, I did a few to get the stone of berenziah from the archmage quarters but after doing a bit of research , The original arch-mage is killed during "the staff of magnus" quest, and you recieve the robes when you become arch mage , aswell...

@Fartucusable No, it was soul trap (look in the top left corner, it says he has no soul gem large enough.)

@1Flamey Wrong, it's because he didn't complete the quest manually, which means the "quest" didn't automatically remove the original lighting supplied for the quest resulting in the old and new lightings being in that house.

(2 Characters, 1 did the quest 1 hasn't : my sources. )
