In late 2003 the pop punk quintet, Red Light Taxi, was formed in a small town on the Big Island of Hawaii. Their songs were written about life, some involving friendship, love, deceit, and hope. With a combination of pop punk and some metal influence, they have created their distinct sound.
They started off playing small gigs and at open mics, however, as they began to get recognized they began playing bigger shows all over the island (and even a few on the island of Oahu).
Throughout the band's lifetime they have achieved many accomplishments. In 2005 they were judged "Best Punk Rock/Heavy Metal band" at the Battle of the Bands in Waimea. They have been featured on Hawaiian Express Records' compilation CD entitled, "Hawaiian Punk, Vol. 2". They also have a music video for the song "All I Need" on TRX TV on Oceanic Channel 16 (OC16).
