Coming from a guy that has a KB cobra now, this car does have plenty of tq and I would bet it could beat the new 5.0. Hell I've seen stock LS1s hang with the new 5.0. A cam LS1 fbody would murder a new 5.0

I have an LS1 WS6 and an 03 Cobra and I still love this car. The firebird will always be legendary no matter which model.

dynoed 311 on a bone stock 01 WS6 A4. After full bolt ons, dynoed 387 rwhp and ran a 12.1 without an aftermarket stall.

My 01 WS6 ran a 13.0 bone stock. Dynoed 317 to the wheels. (roughly 360 at the crank) There is no difference between an LS1 fbody and C5 engine wise. However, the Corvettes are lighter

I love WS6s and Z06s. My 01 WS6s best run with bolt ons, cam, stall was 11.3. They are both bad ass cars!

I love the new GTs, but I'm amazed how fast LS1 fbodys really are. My friends 01 WS6 runs 10.6 with stall, cam, head work, and bolt ons. The LS1 is one of the best motors ever made. Not to mention he gets 20+ mpg on the interstate and is very reliable on the street. He beat a KB Cobra at the track.

I have an KB 03 Cobra pushing around 620 to the wheels and I have a 01 WS6 stalled with head and cam pushing around 430 to the wheels. They both run very similiar times. The best in the Cobra is 10.8 and the WS6's best ia 11.0. I don't know what it is, but the right combo on the LS1 is just so da...

I have both an 03 Cobra and 01 WS6. 03 Cobra with bolt ons and pullied best run was 11.3 in the 1/4 and my ws6 with bolt ons stall + cam was 11.4 in the quarter. Both cars are awesome and those are very close times considering the ws6 is not supercharged.

The LS1 fbodys and the 03 Cobra are the best bang for your buck performance cars ever. They all rock! Nuff said~~~

The LS3 Camaro is just too heavy. My bone stock 01 WS6 ran a 13.0. The 5.0 is just a better car and this is coming from an fbody guy.

I own both an 03 Cobra and 02 Ws6 and your just a dumbass. There is no way an 03 Cobra will run low 12s stock. My best was 12.8 and on average a Cobra is a high 12 low 13 second car. The guy does know what he is talking about. I have an LS1 WS6 running 11.4 with cam, full exhaust, lid, and stall. My car dynoed 410 to the wheels and I have raced a bone stock C6 Z06 and beat it. Bone stock I ran a 13.0 on street tires. With drag radials it would have run 12s.
