About Me:

Im Kyle Sullenberger, Im 18, Ive been playing guitar for 4 years come the end of summer of 09. ive only been playing guitar seriously for about a year though. the first 2 yrs were me learning easy songs and then i learned about sweep picking and thought it was the craziest thing ever. so i learned how to do a Minor Arpeggio and thought i was Yngwie Malmsteen lol. then when i had been playing for 3 years it occured to me i could only play easy rythms, slightly tap, and sweep pick lol i didnt even know how to make up a rythm or a solo. So then this past year ive been playing guitar very seriously (4-10 hours a day). so for all of you pros on youtube that think im sloppy or that your better than me.... you probably are, but on the track im going i guarantee ill be able to shred with any of you within the next year :). I own an Ibanez Jem, an Ibanez Xiphos 7string, an Ibanez RG, and an Ibanez Voyager (yeah im an Ibanez guy lol). My dad is the one who made me start playing guitar. He was playing a recording of one of his solos for me and it had a sweep in it and i said "howd you make that sound?" and he said "it aint easy". and on that same day within the next hour (we were on a long road trip) and he played van halen for me and i decided i wanted to learn guitar. and i said i wanted to learn how to make that sound my dad made on his guitar lol. Winger is my favorite band of all time. i get shit for it all the time but hey i bet they are more talented than anyone you listen to. I then one day heard Children of Bodom's Kissing the Shadows and because of the crazy solos and keyboards i was able to appreciate it because Winger had that same thing going for them. then i eventually grew to love the vocals and have been in love with Death Metal ever since. My Favorite Death Metal bands are Necrophagist, Death, Obscura, Children of Bodom, and The Faceless. Reb Beach (the guitarist of Winger) has been my biggest influence. In my opinion there is nobody as great. None of my videos show it, but i am actually very focused on complicated tapping licks right now, and will have some original material up once i get a drum machine lol

Thats the best way to do it man, thats usually what I do on alot of my solos, diminished to be I didnt really have to worry about man cause it was right on the money but the song was still hard to learn, But I agree with you Chuck is a great guitarist but Andy's solo has a more unique feel to it, same goes for Paul Masvidals solo on flattening of emotions, its just insane man

I know man that is a killer solo, but i gotta warn you there are no tabs or anything whatsoever that really sound right for andys solo, I had to learn alot of it by ear and it still wasnt even the right thing man, but it is a really cool song to do man, right now im learnin the solo to tornado of souls, and its pretty insane

dude you can get it its just a matter of sittin down and learnin it part by part, but as good as you are it shouldnt be a problem for ya
acrossthering18 (1 week ago)
na dude your good trust me, hell I know people around here that has been playin over five and cant hardly do any taps or do any sweeps whatsoever, just keep up what your doin man and you will be insane your already good as hell with taps and sweeps more than I can say for myself man

yeah dude I know I wasnt really all that great with sweeps when I went at that song, and Andys solo was a bitch to learn by ear, but you should check out my new video and see how my sweeps have improved, which they have improved quite a bit, thanks for the comment by the way!

Death Metal probably won't (Hopefully) die out, if any time soon. There are going to be plenty of new styles I think that will come into play with the whole extended range, 7 & 8 string guitar thing, and from what I've heard/seen so far, no one has really gone down that route yet. It'll be interesting to see where it goes in the Death Metal world.

Alright man i'll check it out. Yeah he's a pretty cool guy, I actually met him at a guitar center back in august, and I'm going to a Faceless Concert with him this Saturday. Should be pretty awesome.
