I thou...   more Walking down the beautiful pedestrian street in Chernivtsi (Czernowitz/Cernauti), Ukraine, hearing "Hava Nagila" in the distance. I thought it might be some event for the European Day of Jewish Culture, but no -- it's a wedding. Not Jewish, but apparently H.N. and klezmer tunes have become part of wedding festivities. It was a Sunday, and a band was set up in a tent to play for a constant stream of celebrants.   less
