About Real Anne Frank

Most of the videos here are "movies" of Anne Frank made from these clever passport photo series that the Franks did: the photos were apparently taken at about 1 second intervals. Thus, you can make a movie from them.

Anne Frank died in the Holocaust, at 15 years old. The photos were taken when she was about 10. She and her family had been in hiding for two years before they were found and sent to concentration camps.

Immediately after the raid on the hiding place, a friend of the family rescued the family photos and diaries she could find. It is thanks to her, Miep Gies, that we can read the diary and see these "movies" of a very special person, Anne Frank.
