Great flick! Typical 1950s melodrama, dismissed by some as trite, corny, etc., but far from it. It's a good story, well-acted by a fine cast in an altogether glossy production that made for an entertaining flick and great box office for Twentieth Century-Fox.
The plot of this flick was admittedly a bit contrived, but George Sanders dominates every scene in which he appears. One of the really great screen actors, his legacy is a list of performances....mainly villainous, of course.....at which he excelled. Sadly, we won't see his like again!
