Food waste in landfills creates methane, a greenhouse gas several times more potent than carbon dioxide.
A recent report from the Institute for Self-Reliance said if all cities eliminated their landfill contributions, it would be a greenhouse gas reduction equivalent to closing 21 percent of U.S. coal-fired power plants (John Coté, San Francisco Chronicle, June 10). -- PR

I like all of the ads except the "Monster" ad. I just didn't think that was "cool" enough. I liked "Tag" and "Longing Can" best of all.
