I believe the ride was a free-fall. I remember it on the news because there is an exact same ride at Kennywood Park called the Pitt Fall.

FYI. Kennywood does not allow single riders on the Thunderbolt. I have been riding the Thunderbolt for 30+ years and it does not happen. Obviously you have never been to the park or you are a LIAR and you just want to see if somebody will respond to your comment.

@SchizoidMan100 The last time I rode one of these was in Lakeside Park in Altoona, PA. They also used to have one of these in Hershey Park, PA in the mid-70s. I remember the ride being very uncomfortable.
