Review Andrew Bird - "Break It Yourself" !

I'm not a big fan of this album either. BUT, "Efflictim" was an awesome song. I have that song on my iPod. I bet if someone else came along, did a cover of it, did some better vocals, and added a little more variation to the guitar riff it could become really popular.

Is stripping that much of a bad thing? I don't think stripping is all that bad.

What about the voice of Geddy Lee, how did it get so high? I wonder if he speaks like an ordinary guy?

The album was okay to me. It's definitely an older style of Heavy Metal which is much more tolerable to me but I just wasn't feeling any of the songs on here.

Art is the process of stitching together Frankenstein Monsters from the pieces of other Frankenstein Monsters. This track is even worse I think.

I've pretty much been listening to every album you review and making my own opinion on them with you the exceptions being Heavy Metal albums. Nope...not unless you rate them really really high. I did check out Vector though last year...

I don't love it. I don't hate it. Why? Because there isn't anything particularly special here, but there isn't anything to hate either.

There wasn't anything that I found to be offensive about this album. But, on the other hand, it didn't give me any good reason to love it. It's good, just not amazing.

I thought what was there was pretty catchy. It's not something I'd listen to again and again, but it is listenable. I liked the opening track especially.

Offering a DRM free version totally makes sense. I mean, even if the game is pirated, it doesn't matter all that much, they already have their money as it is. The project is already funded. This whole donation thing is really more like a pre-order than anything else.

I liked this EP a lot. The messyness of it is what appeals to me. I remember this one part in "The Shrine / An Argument" off of the new Fleet Foxes album towards the end that I really liked where the song went into chaos, and this EP reminds me of that in some parts. I thought it was pretty "myeh". I liked "I Belong in Your Arms" a little bit, but I don't think this band is for me.

I don't really like Hip-Hop all that much but this EP really hit home for me, I liked it a lot. "Rumbling" is also my favorite track, pretty badass. It's so many different things it's hard to really put it into a category, it's different than most hip-hop.

I feel as though you reviewed this album twice with two different opinions and then spliced the two reviews together. It seemed like a lukewarm on the fence kind of review and yet it was given a light 8....

Loveless by My Bloody Valentine.

I liked it. It wasn't all that spectacular or amazing but it had some catchy songs. It's not great enough to make feel like getting the album though, all I did was listen to it once on NPR.

Yeah, the lyrics suck and the production and mixing wasn't so great. With a little bit of fixing up I'd give it a decent 7 personally.

The reason why people ask for classic reviews is because they want suggestions for music to check out. Or at least, that's what I want. You could say....make one long video of "stuff you should check out" and most of us would be satisfied. Or, not making video and just releasing a list.
