@sherrill1946 - No. This is the story of the Edmund Fitzgerlad. The Perfect Storm is based on the sinking of the Andrea Gail out of Glocester, MA. The Andrea Gail was lost at sea in 1991. Book was written by a guy named Junger. The EF sank in Lake Superior in 1976.
