The Compton organ was removed from the ABC Grimsby in 1966 when the cinema was modernised.
It was sent to the ABC Kingston upon Thames but not sure what happened to it after that .It maybe went into storage or used as spare parts.

As a regular visitor to Toronto, I can't understand why the trolley bus fleet was withdrawn in this age of polution. I know the streetcar routes have been extended so why wasn't the trolley bus services given the same priority.

I was a young technician at the ABC (Savoy) Lincoln in 1959 when Marty appeared on stage there....I managed to sneak him out after the show away from the screaming teenagers...GOOD THEN ...EXCELLENT NOW.

This recording was used after the screening of the National Anthem at the close of peformance....later the anthem was also added to the recording,the anthem later was played at the beginning of the day before finally disapearing altogether.

As a cinema projectionist in the 1950's/1960s , I agree MGM was in the forefront with musicals but 20th Century Fox and Universal also had good musicals too.I do hope John Wilson takes a look at these for future programming.
