Vinnie is an awsome guitarist, but in my opinion it was this scribble type, extreme fast solo's that turned people off of rock... HIs speed is phenom, but it loses melody. He is without a doudt impressive and the guy shreds, but to me it sounds muttled, a lot of noise. But to each his own.
