I'm not an organist but I play one on YouTube.

I took piano lessons from age 4 until 10. Lenore was a wonderful piano teacher, but I never became proficient at playing. Lenore also played the pipe organ at church. After watching her play I became interested in how the instrument was constructed, and read as many books on the organ as I could find at the library. At that time I was more interested in the mechanics of the instrument rather than the music itself. The appreciation of organ music came years later.

As I do not play all that well, I construct MIDI files for my videos from sheet music using a MIDI editor in step-record mode.

For sound generation, most of the videos use Hauptwerk Virtual Pipe Organ with the 1928 Skinner organ set (original wet version) from milandigitalaudio.com. The videos of carillon bells use the sound bank PMI Carillon from sampletekk.com. My older videos, most of which are no longer on line, used either a Yamaha PSR-510 synthesizer or a hand chime sample bank.

For visual generation, a few of my videos do screen-grabs of the organ console from the Hauptwerk software, but most of the videos use 3D generation using C++ code I've written. The software is a work in progress. At present there are no projective shadows in the visualization, perhaps later. The 3D artwork is generated using procedural methods. Specifically, no 3D drafting is involved. Rather, the figures are generated using mathematical formulas, and in some instances, a 2D drawing is used to define the silhouette shape of an object. The visualization is driven by the same MIDI file used for the audio track so that the animation synchronizes with the music.
