it would be interesting to see a comparison of a d4 and d800 image both shot at 6400 ISO and then the d800 image resampled to the d4 image size.. my bet is that the d800 beats the d4 hands down in terms of detail.. 3k camera beats a 6k camera !!

half the point of the high end dslrs is the amazing auto focus system. .putting a manual focus lens on it is just handicapping the body. .sure a manual focus lens may work well in the studio but for street use it just ends up with too many out of focus images. .

remote flash, shutter speed around the flash sync speed (1/250 - 1/320 of a second) , aperture around f4 - 5.6, focal length 70-85mm on a full frame body, iso around 400-800. Flash from above the model judging by the shadow..

the term is "creeping" and not "breathing". .lens creep is when a lens extends/retracts on account of its own weight when pointed up/down. Foucus breathing is the change in focal length when the lens is focussed from MFD to infinity.. .

why chimping is bad ..? because the default brightness of the LCD of DSLRs are too bright and if you use the screen (without the histogram) to judge exposure you are going to see underexposed pics when you go home. Definitely chimp, but in a sensible way by evaluating the histogram. For digital ...

I think you could have cropped the bottom a bit. . .8 out of 10 times i feel the 3:2 aspect ratio doesnt work well when shooting vertically. .just my opinion. .love it for stiched panos though. .

to all beginners:please do not attempt to take pictures without looking at your meter and histogram. . the very point of raw is to optimise your data and if you are second guessing at exposure you are losing data right there. . for people with the d7000. . and for that matter with most dslrs (exc...
