meloearth, if I can butt in to your butting in, what do you think would happen to our children if we did that m.o. in other areas, like diet (decide if they want veggies or cookies for their dinner entree), or studies (let them grow up, decide for themselves whether or not they think school is worth it, for instance), or bathing? Isn't telling them they have to take a bath at least once a month, brainwashing....literally?

If I can butt in on the conversation, Wendy, I have to refer to something Richard Dawkins frequently points out, in regards to your post. He says there are no Catholic, Muslim, Protestant (etc) children. I'd love to ask religious people to not do "the same" to 12 yr olds or younger kids. Let them grow up, get to know all sides, think for themselves, and then choose, when they are ready, what to believe in...or not. What I believe is that adults of all religions should stop brainwashing children. Just my 2 cents.

ok u know what, i love god. i may not be perfect and i dont know all the answers, but god didnt intend on that. and the reason there is so much bad stuff in the world is because god loves us even if we hate him. there fore he chose to give us all a choice. and i wont try to convert u or question u, but please dont do the same to an 12 yr old girl ok.
