I am trying to know "Myself".

To say it correctly, I should say, "I m trying to KNOW, KNOW only What is".

When I try to know about myself, I am different from myself. There is a knower and there is a known. So reality is, I can't know myself. Can Mirror reflect itself? Can eye see itself? Knower can only KNOW. The moment knower knows "about" something, It is not knower. That "about" becomes KNOWN. So how to know knower?

I am also trying to know WHY I TRY TO KNOW? Why there is curious mind? why there is craving mind? Why I always want to do something, why I can't live without doing? EVen if I don't do anything. Still I "DO" nothing. Why I just can't flow with happening? Why I try to make things happen?

I work, listen, smell, taste, feel, think. But Behind all these, who is present? who really consciously gives senses that I have done somethimg, smelled, Listened, tasted or felt? What is that element in body which really KNOWs everything. Body is just dead entity made of biological cells. It is uncapable of KNOWING or Feeling. But there is conscious element KNOWER(religion calls it as "Chetna") which really senses/KNOWS everything. This KNOWER is neither biological nor material. It doesn't follow rule of nature like birth/decay etc. So What is this CHETNA?

Whatever I do is just to satisy my ego and to impress others which again satisfies my ego. Religion says, get rid of EGO. But WHY? Who is the one getting rid of EGO? Isn't that another minute religious EGO? So There is no way to get rid of EGO. Only thing I can do is either satisfy my ego OR suppress it OR just WITNESS it. If I suppress or express it, I become happy/unhappy. If I am unhappy, I try to become happy. If I am happy, I try not to become unhappy. Becuase I like only happiness. But Life is not made of only happiness. It is combinationa of all opposite dualities like good/bad, this/that, happiness/unhappiness, North/South, Me/You, here/there. Mind always thinks in terms of duality. hence I perceive world in dual sense. But I can't choose one side of coin. The moment I choose one side, Indirectly I am accepting existence of other side too. But I am trying to pretend as if other side doesn't exists. And I pray and apply all kind of effort that other side doesn't come into picture. But ultimately I am fooling myself.

Choice is mine, I can go on fooling myself or I can just try to know what is truth/reality. I don't see any meaning of living foolish life where I fool myself. So I try to KNOW.

Now I can't suppress ego. I can't express it either. So what to do. I try to SEE it now, without trying to get rid of it or without trying to express it. I m just observing it. From where is is coming and where it is going. Like all things in mortal Universe, EGO doesn't have permanent existence. It comes and goes. It doesn't stay. Like clouds in Sky. They come and go. But SKY is always there, witnessing their presence. EGO comes from and goes to WHOM? Me? If so, I should not be EGO. Isn't it? But I identify myself with impermanent EGO. I feel I am EGO. Hence I feel I am mortal. I'll also die one day. BUt It is just illusory. I create my own perception, ideas and ego. But reality is different. So Who is the ONE who is egoistic? Where is he/she?

I am still trying to KNOW.
