@1968krishna It is not make any difference to me where Thyagaraja was born but, the fact is Thyagaraja was born in Thiruvarur in Tanjore district. The word carnatic music was coined in Vijayanagara way before Purandara dasa was born.

Part of the incredible lyrics is from ancient poetry: Yayum neeyum yaarahiyaro, endaiyum undaiyum emmurai kenir, nanum neeyum evvazhi aridum, sempulap peyar neer pola anbudai nenjam thaan kalandanave. Since I learned this 50 years ago the first line has some mistakes.
