I first heard Ray Charles when I was a 12 year old white farm kid in 1958. At first I didn't like the music—I had never heard anything like it. By the time I was 16 I loved Ray and his music and heard him live for the first time in 1962 or 63. Since then I've seen him live probably 20 times or mo...
