@rallful In the interest of not looking like a senile idiot, I would like to point out that oldtimemusicmachine added the personnel list in reply to my earlier query. It wasn't there when I asked - honest!

Stardust - Ray McKinley And the Glenn Miller Orchestra
Nice solo's here from Bobby Jones (Tenor Sax) and Ed Zandy (Trumpet)

@Frankieman1 Ed Zandy did a better job than when I saw the band in London in Feb '59. It was the last concert of a long tour and he 'cracked' on several of his solos - including String Of Pearls. It was so horrible I still remember it!

Glenn Miller LIVE - "Serenade In Blue" - '42 - HQ
Well, it's sorta live - culled from "Orchestra Wives" - and sweet, to boot.

@realms1 The conductor is watching Jo closely because the orchestra is following her; she is not 'singing along with the band'.

@Poisson4147 I concur completely. A selection of the recordings made for the 'American Broadcasting Station in Europe' is available - in the UK at least - on CD and Miller's german is, indeed, dreadful. Johnny Desmond and Iris Manning did better and Ray McKinley had the good sense not to try!

@MAJORSNODGRASS I always thought it was 'The Battle of New Orleans' (We fired our guns and the British kept a'coming...)
@MegaGARFISH Duane did have a Les Paul - he traded it for his first Gretsch because he needed the Bigsby vibrato.
