Yeah, I got Pidgin on my netbook, it's just a central hub for all your IM accounts. Pretty damn handy though.

Eh, it's just that the browser isn't the best tool for instant messaging. There tends to be a lot going on in your browser already so you tend to overlook some tabs. Though it does remove the issue of cross-platform IMing, can't exactly IM someone on AIM through MSN. Or not last I tried anyway.
