AB's First film "Bhala Aadmi" 1958, 4 songs Anand Bakshi SINGING his first ever (film) recorded song, "Dharti Tere Liye", from his FIRST film "BHALA AADMI" (BALA AADMI) 1956/1958. In a small audio clip from an interview with Ameen Sayaniji on AIR @Binaca Geetmala, Anand Bakshi shares his experience here and sings the first verse from his first ever recorded film song. Also, uploaded here are the 3 other songs from this film, Lyrics written by Bakshiji. (He wrote 4 songs in this first film of his). So far i have not been able to locate the audio or video of his first song he wrote and was recorded for this film, but the other 3 songs from this film I have located the audio of and i have uploaded them here. Enjoy! (It was Bhagwan Dada (the Actor) who gave Anand Bakshi a break in Hindi films.) Actors: Anita Guha, Chandershekhar, Bhagwan, Kumkum, Kumar, Protima Devi, Buburao Pehelwan From Bakshiji's Biography: 1956 - Lyricists Anand Bakshi got his first break in films when Actor Producer Bhagwan Dada signed him for four songs for Brij Mohan's film, "Bhala Aadmi", in 1956, a stunt film. later when Bakshi saw his name in the films credits, he cried in happiness. He was also paid (Rs. 150/- ) for his first 4 songs. His first recorded song was -- "Dharti Ke Laal Na Kar Itna Malaal, Dharti tere Liye Tu Dharti Ke Liye." (Anand Bakshi once again began his struggle when he arrived in Bombay to find work in films the 2nd time -- in Oct. 1956, meeting people, hopping from one studio to another. To make matters worse, his money ran out in three months, "I was at the end of my tether," he grins today, "I didn't know what to do. I thought I should return home. But I was embarrassed. What would my family say?" Then Bakshi heard that Bhagwan Dada was launching a film, 'BHALA AADMI'. "I went to his office at Dadar", Bakshi flashbacks. "I told him I was a song-writer. Right away he asked me to write four songs. I was paid Rs 150 for those songs. It was a whopping sum those days. Recorded 1st song on 9.11.1956." - Anand Bakshi said in a press print interview.) After the success of "Jab Jab Phool Khile", Bhagwan dada met Anand Bakshi in a big film party, and advised him, "Bakshi saheb, Khushi Ki Baat hai, Aap ka naam ho gaya hai. Magar ek baat yaad rakhna, ke yahan film industry mein aadmi ko naam se zyada uss ka kaam zinda rakhta hai." Bakshi never ever forgot that golden advice he said. AB Singing 'Balika Badhu' 1976 (Shakti Films) song JAGAT MUSAFIR KHANA - In the film the song was dubbed by singer Bhupinder. But the vinyl and cassette released had this version sung by Bakshiji. Lyrics Anand Bakshi. Music R D Burman. Bakshi casually confessed to Shaktida that he has a fear that when he sings for films the films do not do well at the box office. Shaktida got superstitious by Bakshiji's candid confession and before the film released he requested Bakshiji and got his song dubbed by singer Bhupinder.  Play all 1 video Play all(1)
AB Singing 'Main Koi Baraf Nahi Hoon', his Poem, at Home Many of Bakshiji's fans and writers say that Bakshiji's songs have inspired them. Thanks. But there is one poem Bakshiji wrote to inspire himself when he felt down or lack of confidence or not happy with his life. This is the poem. He wrote this poem in 1990's and in 2002 Producer Subhash Ghai recorded it for a film song. In the film it was sung by Udit Narayan. Music Anu Malik. But the film was shelved in 2003.
