Padmini is very beautiful and photogenic. She gave a tough competition to Vyjayantimala in dancing and acting in "Raj Tilak". While the Hindi version was not received well the Tamil version was a super hit. These actresses came together again in " Amardeep " with Dev Anand.

Vijaya Choudhury is a cute looking actress who did "Holiday in Bombay" with Shashi Kapoor, "Satta Bazar with Suresh and a few side roles like "Sambandh" and " Bindiya". Though cute and beautiful she was quite an average actress and she went into oblivion soon.

C. Ramchandra was way ahead of his time. This is song is a proper western arrangement. The counter melody. muted voices are unbelievably modern ( Naushad used them in "Uran Khatola" ). Interesting to hear Lata and Talat singing parts. Unfortunately very few noticed this song at that time.

Wow , what a beautiful song and dance! Amardeep was filled with great looking people, Padmini, Vyjayantimala, Ragini and Dev Anand. With C.Ramchandra's incredibly melodious songs and beautiful dances it became a gem to be cherished! Hope DVD is available with good print and sound quality.

One of Usha Khanna's earlier gems. Usha herself revealed how Lata added her touches and magnified the effect. However, it was so badly picturised that it had gone into oblivion despite the picturesque Vienna background. What a pity!

What a fantastic dance by Ragini! Good composition from O.P. Nayyar. Mujrim ( 1958 ) was a great hit while its remake " Bandhe Haath " ( Amitabh and Mumtaz ) turned out to be a flop. Despite the elaborate settings Mumtaz could not match the dancing prowess of Ragini.
